trapped-image-533x800On Thursday, September 15th National Council of Jewish Women Bergen County Section, along with NJ NOW, the Reproductive Committee of the Unitarian Church of Ridgewood and the NJ Abortion Access Fun, co-sponsored the screening of the award-winning documentary Trapped. This film follows the ongoing struggles of abortion clinic workers in Texas who fought against the notorious TRAP laws to keep abortion safe and legal in the U.S. TRAP is an acronym which stands for “target regulations of abortion providers.

Following the film the audience listened to remarks by Kelly Baden, Senior Director of the US Policy and Advocacy Center for Reproductive Rights. She discussed the recent Supreme Court decision which ruled that the TRAP laws were unconstitutional because they failed to advance women’s health and placed an undue burden on women’s ability to access abortion care.
