On Sunday, May 15, 2016 the Annual Swim In Luncheon was held at the Graycliff Manor in Moonachie. The 40 year old event was attended by both volunteers and people with Multiple Sclerosis. The approximately 80 attendees enjoyed an afternoon of camaraderie, light entertainment, prizes and delicious food.

The MS Swim In, held at the JCC in Tenafly, is a free two hour therapeutic aquatic exercise program for people with multiple sclerosis. It is held Wednesday from September through May and is cosponsored by the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the National Council of Jewish Women Bergen County Section. Over 30 NCJW BCS members volunteer weekly and are supervised by a professional physical therapist.

Water activity is beneficial for people who have Multiple Sclerosis because the buoyancy of the water permits body movement which may otherwise be difficult.

Emotional and psychological benefits of Swim In are equally valuable for all participants.
