NCJW BCS CONGRATULATES HIPPY GRADUATES

HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Pre-School Youngsters) graduated 26 excited five year olds before their proud parents and home instructors as their delighted NATIONAL COUNCIL OF JEWISH WOMEN BERGEN COUNTY SECTION volunteers cheered and applauded.

The boys and girls, dressed in blue caps and gowns, marched in to the traditional strains of Pomp and Circumstance  while audience members enthusiastically snapped pictures.

After reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and  sharing some of their achievements with the assembled group, the children received their ‘”diplomas” which attest to their three years of dedicated work in preparation for entrance into kindergarten.

NCJW BCS volunteers were presented with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their efforts in organizing monthly workshops for HIPPY youngsters.

HIPPY’s  mission is to empower parents with the skills and confidence necessary to be their child’s first teacher.

This fall Bergen Family Center will honor NCJW BCS for its 20-year partnership and support of the HIPPY program.
