NCJW BCS MEMBER RUTH COWAN RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Swim-In VideoOn November 8th, 2014, at the Omni Hotel in Fort Worth, Texas, during the Annual Meeting for the National Multiple Sclerosis Association, our own Past President and Past Honorary President Ruth Cowan received a Lifetime Achievement Award. Ruth was cited for thirty- eight years of volunteerism. Ruth is credited with developing the NCJW/ NJ MS Society Swim-In program for patients with Multiple Sclerosis that has been delivered continuously for the last 38 years, currently at the JCC in Tenafly. Today the weekly program serves nineteen swimmers and utilizes over thirty-five volunteers.
