NCJW BCS VOLUNTEERS WERE CELEBRATED AT THE JEWISH HOME AT ROCKLEIGH

NCJW BCS members were among the many volunteers who were made welcome by Charlene Vannucci, Jewish Home Family’s Director of Volunteer Services, for the special 100th Centennial Volunteer Appreciation BBQ at The Jewish Home at Rockleigh on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Upon arrival, we were invited to sign a petition for more government funds for research for Brain and Alzheimers Disease.

Sadly the threatening weather prevented the event from taking place outside in the beautiful gardens, but we still enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner with live music entertainment and an opportunity to mingle. Carol Silver Elliott, Jewish Home Family’s new President and CEO, gave an inspiring talk, presenting us with an overview of the scope of existing and new innovative programs that Jewish Home Family offers for the 21st century. This was followed by an invitation to singalong with a delightful music video of residents harmonizing to the song. To singalong with them, click on: How Can Anyone Ever Tell You. A great time was had by all.

Situated on a breathtaking 16 acre park-like setting, the 180 resident facility offers exceptional care to their long-term care residents, those suffering from dementia, and those in need of respite care, hospice care, sub-acute care, speech, physical and occupational inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation.
