NCJW MEMBERS VOLUNTEERING AT HIPPY (HOME INSTRUCTION FOR PARENTS OF PRESCHOOL YOUNGSTERS)

What a wonderful way to encourage family strengthening activities. HIPPY Lil Readers took their monthly workshop on the road and visited the Englewood Public Library!!  Parents received very valuable resource information on how to obtain a library card and all the terrific programs the library has to offer. Meanwhile children paired with a volunteer to explore the library, check out the books and read more than a few stories!

Every family left with a goodie bag filled with Literacy Resources. As a literacy program, HIPPY believes every child should be exposed to their local library. We hope to see the children going to the library often!  Bergen Family Center sent thank you messages to the Children’s Department at the Englewood Library, NCJW volunteers, staff and the engaging HIPPY Home Visitors for this great evening.
