PROJECT S.A.R.A.H. ELEVENTH ANNUAL BREAKFAST

Together with several hundred men and women supporters, five BCS members attended this moving and inspirational annual event on Sunday morning April 30 at Congregation Keter Torah in Teaneck.  A sumptuous breakfast was followed by opening remarks from Esther East, Director of Jewish Family Services.  The D’Var Torah was delivered by Rabbi Shalom Baum.

The charismatic guest of honor, Dr. David Pelcovitz, Chair in Psychology and Education, Yeshiva University, regaled us with anecdotes relating to his life and work.  A video was shown of courageous Jewish women witnessing their tragic histories of domestic violence and how Project S.A.R.A.H. literally saved their lives.

Rabbi Yaakow Neuburger received the Rabbinical Support Award while the Volunteer Recognition Award was presented to Peggy Danishefsky, Founder of The Mother’s Day Gift Program.
