TAKE A WALK IN MY BOOTS: A PERSONAL ACCOUNT OF WOMEN IN THE MILITARY

TUESDAY, MARCH 20, 12:30 PM.  TEMPLE EMETH

On Tuesday, March 20th at 12:30 PM at Temple Emeth, NCJW BCS will present Jordanna Mallach, who will speak on women in today’s military.  She will not only share her personal experiences as a Jewish woman in the military, but also the unique issues that they face.

Ms. Mallach currently serves as the Special Programs Coordinator with the New York State Division of Veterans Affairs with the responsibility of overseeing the interests of women veterans. Her military history is extensive; she was deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 as a brigade supply and service officer and as the Jewish lay leader at Bagram Air Field, home to 30,000 civilian and military personnel. Ms. Mallach has received numerous medals, including the Bronze Star, in recognition of her excellent service.

She is a graduate of Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey, and Union College in New York.  Currently living in Saranac Lake with her 10 year old daughter, Cayla, Ms. Mallach’s presentation will include her experiences being a mother while doing military service.

The meeting is free to members. There is a $10 charge for non-members that can be applied towards membership paid that day.  For further information contact Ginny Wasserman at rubigin@aol.com, 201-242-5585.
