FABULOUS TRIP TO THE HISPANIC MUSEUM WITH LUNCH AT XAVIERS X2O ON THE HUDSON – THURSDAY, APRIL 24, 2014

We visited The Hispanic Museum in upper Manhattan, a little known “gem” of New York’s cultural treasures.  It is housed in a Beaux Arts mansion and contains the largest collection of Iberian art outside of Spain..  We had a docent-led tour of the paintings, ceramics, etc. including works by El Greco and Goya and the famed murals by Sorolla. Also, from the Spanish Golden Age, were paintings by Luis de Morales, El Greco, Franciso de ZurbaránJusepe de Ribera, Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, Juan de Valdés Leal, Antonis Mor, Diego Velázquez, Juan Carreño de Miranda and more.

Following that visit, we enjoyed a multi-course lunch at Xaviers X20 on the Hudson, the gorgeous restaurant that was, once again, a big hit with our members.
