HELP A WOMAN FEEL BEAUTIFUL

Do you wear makeup?  Lipstick?  Do some of the cosmetic counters where you shop have promotions and give-aways?  When the salesperson hands you a free gift, consider mentioning that, through National Council of Jewish Women, you plan to give it to a shelter for victims of domestic violence who have fled their homes with only the clothes on their backs.  Or, to the homeless shelter where women certainly don’t have the funds to buy skin cream or body lotion.

One of our members did just that recently, and the salesperson was so touched hearing about the need of women right here in Bergen County that she showered our member with freebies.  Try it next time you visit one of the myriad cosmetic counters at our local department store.

Bring your bounty to a general meeting and give it to one of the members at the check-in table.  They’ll make sure it gets to the right people at the Center for Hope and Safety and the homeless shelter in Hackensack.  Also remember to keep collecting hotel toiletries for the same clientele.  Thank you!
