Resurgent Anti-Semitism: How Much To Worry

NCJW BCS’s first general meeting of the year was held on September 14, 2017 with Kenneth Jacobson, the Deputy National Director of the Anti-Defamation League.  Mr. Jacobson’s presentation focused on Resurgent Anti-Semitism: How Much To Worry.  Throughout the session, the audience was fully engaged in his discussion, which included the prevalence of anti-Semitism in this country and throughout the world, as well as the BDS movement. The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement is a vocal presence on college campuses and is anti-Semitic at its core.  Overall, Mr. Jacobson stated that anti-Semitism is “not something to lose sleep over”  at the current time.  But we must not be complacent. He further stated that “when America is in retreat from the world, it is bad for America and bad for the Jewish people. When America is engaged in the world, it’s good for America and good for the Jewish people.” The meeting concluded with a lively Q&A session.
