95th ANNIVERSARY GRANT UPDATE: BERGEN VOLUNTEER MEDICAL INITIATIVE BVMI HIRES A LICENSED NURSE PRACTITIONER

Thanks to our generous 95th Anniversary Grant, BVMI has hired Griselle Rivera for its Women’s Health Initiative.  Ms. Rivera has more than 18 years of experience in nursing and has worked in many different environments, from a private practice to a large insurance company, from a small clinic to a large hospital.  She is employed full time, and our grant supports a portion of her salary. Ms. Rivera not only sees patients, she orders tests, reads results and makes diagnoses, all of which help BVMI streamline its use of its facilities and practitioners.  Ms. Rivera explains, “BVMI is not like any other clinic.  It’s very patient-centered. Patients get one-on-one attention from every member of the staff. It’s a great place to work.”

NCJW BCS is proud to partner with BVMI and help build a healthier Bergen County. Amanda Missey, CEO of BVMI, feels partnering with NCJW BCS is a perfect match as “we both share a common mission…to empower women and help them take control of their lives, their health and their overall well-being and happiness.”
