Equine and Chocolate = Fun for All

A group of our members recently spent a delightful afternoon at one of our agencies’ events. The pandemic forced the Women’s Rights Information Center (WRIC) to think outside the box when scheduling their 8th annual Wine & Chocolate “fun”draiser. They moved it to the great outdoors at Bergen Equestrian Center at Overpeck Park and renamed it EQUINE & Chocolate.

There was something for all ages from wine tasting and sweet & savory treats to dancing to upbeat music to listening to country music to schmoozing and to petting the ponies and painting pumpkins. All were available while following appropriate protocols – wearing masks and socially distancing.

Kudos to WRIC for being so inventive and providing such a wonderful time. As always they gave a strong shout out to NCJW BCS. WRIC helps women learn and develop skills they need to move toward self-sufficiency. BCS volunteers serve as receptionists, ESL tutors, career closet consultants, computer teacher assistants and more.
