GROUND-BREAKING ADVOCATE ELIZABETH HOLTZMAN SPEAKS AT NCJW BCS

The National Council of Jewish Women Bergen County Section was honored to host Elizabeth Holtzman at our May 21 General Meeting in Teaneck, NJ. She spoke to 200 women and men about her Brooklyn Jewish upbringing, her Radcliffe and Harvard Law degrees and her work in the south during the fight for civil rights. She discussed her experience as the youngest woman (at the time) to be elected to the US Congress, her work bringing Nazi war criminals to justice, her serving on the House Judiciary Committee during the Nixon impeachment proceedings and much more. The audience was in awe of Ms. Holtzman’s courage and tenacity in seeking justice for all. Conversely, she paid tribute to our Section’s advocacy efforts on behalf of women, children and families.
