NCJW BCS Members Attend Beauty, Strength and Courage

On Sunday, March 15, approximately 50 NCJW BCS members along with approximately 80 others attended Beauty, Strength and Courage at the Ridgewood Public Library. The program featured the screening of “Brave Miss World,” the true story of Linor Abargil, Israel’s former Miss World, and her journey from sex victim to advocate against sexual harassment and her finding renewed faith in Judaism.

Rabbi Paul Jacobson, Temple Avodat Shalom; Rabbi Jennifer Schlosberg, Glen Rock Jewish Center; and Rabbi Rachel Steiner, Barnert Temple introduced the film with meaningful, inspirational and personal statements.  Following the film, the audience engaged in a conversation via Skype with Cecelia Peck, the film’s director and daughter of Gregory Peck.

NCJW BCS thanks the JCC NNJ for inviting us to co-sponsor the sold-out screening. NCJW BCS was thrilled to partner with five congregations, YWCA Bergen County healingSPACE and Jewish Family and Children Services of NNJ.
