Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children, and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms.

A Faith in the Future. A Belief in Action.

NCJW BOARD MEMBERS GO TO CAMP (FOR THE DAY)!

Section Board members Joan Cooper, Marilynn Friedman, Sue Kanrich and Phyllis Betancourt went to the YCS camp on Friday, June 29th. Our members had an opportunity to do crafts with a number of the girls and at lunchtime share a cook out with the boys. We’re not sure who gained more — the campers or our women.

Each year the YCS program brings most of the children from Holley and Kilbarchan to a fabulous camp near the Poconos for 2 weeks of camp fun: sleeping in bunks, swimming in a gigantic pool, fishing in a pond, learning how to row a boat, archery and all the wonderful things that “sleep away” camp brings to mind. In addition, due to the special needs of many of the campers, the bunks and a huge gym and dining room are air conditioned. Wow!

YCS Holley and Kilbarchan, two of our residential community service facilities, are most appreciative of all the volunteers who participate during the year and the financial support of NCJW BCS. Next year we hope you will join us.
