Benjamin Baron, an acclaimed musician, performer and educator, will present a multifaceted program about Klezmer music.

Through lecture and demonstrations and by performing with his clarinets, Ben will entertain and inform us about the history and the unique musical forms of Klezmer.

Ben has a doctorate from the famed Manhattan School of Music and has performed as a principle clarinetist around the world,  on Broadway, with major New York area orchestras and chamber music societies, and at New York and New Jersey Jewish congregations.

Benjamin Baron grew up Sioux City, Iowa and lives in Oradell, NJ with his wife and two daughters.Described as a player of great emotion and intensity, Ben enjoys a diverse career based in New York City. Highlights include performances with the American Symphony Orchestra, New York Pops, American Composers Orchestra, American Ballet Theatre Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, and a European tour with the London Winds. He  has served as principal clarinetist with the Chamber Orchestra of New York, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas and the New York Symphonic Ensemble which included numerous appearances as soloist on tours throughout Japan. He can be heard on many recordings for Sony Classical and has performed in many Broadway hits.Ben appears regularly at Park Avenue Synagogue in New York City, Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale, and Temple Beth El in Closter, and as a featured High Holiday guest artist at Central Synagogue in New York City. He is on the faculty of Montclair State University and has graduate degrees from Yale University and the Manhattan School of Music.
